You may have noticed that this weeks newsletter has landed in your inbox on Wednesday, a day later than usual. As I'm implementing a more organised framework for The Creative Introvert Club, featuring Monday and Friday Chats, it felt logical to schedule the newsletter for midweek.
I will also be sharing the plans I have for my personal work and the practical things I will be doing week to week in order to progress my ideas. This is a form of accountability for me and hopefully will be of interest to you as you navigate your own creative journey.
Mindful Monday
Daily affirmations and manifesting the life we want can only work if we commit to them, which I know is much easier said than done. That’s why I think a weekly boost of positivity may be an easier way to help us improve our mindset and spur us on to find more ways to include positive actions into our everyday lives.
Our mindset shapes our attitudes, beliefs and actions. A positive mindset can help us to see challenges as opportunities for growth, reduce stress and anxiety and increase feelings of happiness.
One step at a time.
Each Monday I will post either an inspirational quote or a thought for the week ahead into Chat. These will be for us to contemplate during the coming week. An anchor for us to hold onto when things feel overwhelming or just to motivate us to keep moving forward.
Sound good?
You may wish to pop the quote or thought on a post-it note or write it in your journal, anywhere you will be able to see it. Read it often. Think about the message. Do the words resonate with you?
Is this type of mindfulness something you already practice? If it is, perhaps you could share some of the ways you incorporate positivity into your daily routine.
Also, do you have any suggestions or ideas for our Mindful Monday? Feel free to let me know, I’d love to hear them.
Friday Fun
I'm contemplating the idea of introducing a monthly creative theme, with the plan to delve into a new direction each week. So for example, the monthly theme could be dogs and week one may be sketch a dog from a photograph. Week two might be use one continuous line to draw your image, and so on.
These will be fun, creative activities for you to dip into. A wind down from a busy week. For those weeks you don’t manage to follow along, the prompts will be archived for future reference.
You may wish to take the activity and run with it. Use a variety of mediums such as paints, pencils and paper or threads, fabric and beads.
The idea is to use the prompts for inspiration, a jumping off point for your imagination.
Initially, I’m thinking that the first Friday of every month may be a good time to post the monthly theme with suggestions for further experimental work on the following Fridays. I’ll see how we go and tweak the schedule if necessary.
It would be lovely to see how you get on, so please share in the Chat if you are comfortable doing that.
Personal projects
Currently, I'm in the process of writing a book. Well, I have a concept in mind, and I've already begun the initial work, but as is always the way, procrastination keeps creeping in.
I've wanted to create an ‘arty’ book for some time now. A book filled with vibrant illustrations, intriguing quotes and facts, as well as interactive sections for readers to engage with. It's a project that I hope will be both visually appealing and useful.
I intend to provide glimpses into the behind-the-scenes process and share the steps I'm taking to bring this project to fruition, with the ultimate goal of getting it published. It should be an exciting journey!
Keeping in touch
I’ll send out a quick email when the prompts go live in Chat so you don’t miss anything. If you are not already a subscriber, now is the perfect time to sign up.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this weeks news, feel free to leave a comment below and join the conversation.
Until next time…
Gaynor xx
I love the idea of the themed days. I think that can really help to add focus!
Exciting news about your book! I’m 18 months into mine. It started in a branding and business theme but quickly morphed into memoir and it’s deep work. Love the sound of a book filled with illustrations and interactive sections, something visually stunning and practical! Good luck!
